Cardnials Win!!!

On Sunday we went to Phoenix to the Arizona Cardnial's game. We left Big Water about 7:00 a.m. to meet Joe & Joy at In-n-Out burger before the game. We arrived at the University of Phoenix Stadium about an hour before tip-off, they have quite the parking system in place.
We entered the stadium and checked the place out. It's a really nice stadium, of course it is brand new so it does have all the added extras that a lot of other stadiums don't have.
When we bought the tickets in July we knew we were in the lower sections but we didn't realize that we would be on the front row of the endzone. Below are some of the pictures we took at the game, I never thought we'd be this close.

Snow in Big Water!!!

Ok...so I didn't get a picture of the snow because it all melted prior to me getting out of bed this morning however when I went to bed last night the ground was dusted with snow!

Page received about 2 inches of snow as well, just enough to send everyone into a frenzy.

We made it home from Salt Lake yesterday after a dark and cloudy day, luckily there wasn't much snow on the drive. We are getting ready for the big new year's weekend with my family. Joe & Joy will arrive shortly and everyone else will arrive tomorrow.

Merry Christmas!

Quent and I want to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It's been a busy year for us, from getting engaged in January to getting married in August. We have finally settled into our house in Big Water and have slowly started to turn the bachelor pad into a house for the both of us and we hope to redecorate a little more after the first of the year.

We appreciate all of the support everyone has given us over the past year and hope that you and your family will have a safe and happy holiday season.

Merry Christmas to all!

Gingerbread Challenge!

Tonight was the Edman family Christmas party held at Joe & Joy's house. It was also the first annual Gingerbread Challenge. After eating creamy chicken noodle soup and taco soup it was time for the contest to start. Each of us created a gingerbread house, gingerbread tree or a gingerbread train *we decided to go with the prepackaged kits rather than baking our own gingerbread houses...a grand idea!* After all the decorating was done we had a "non-family" member judge the decorations and Ashley won best overall for her train design. Slim won for best tree, Joy won for best house and Nicole won for best train. Below are the pictures of the party.

Slim decided to read the instructions from start to finish before creating his masterpiece.
Morgan had a great time helping her mom and dad decorate the gingerbread house. She even helped with the snow to complete the project.

Rick followed the instructions at the start until he realized there were more pieces than would fit in the track for his train.

Mom and Dad got into the action here. Mom was laying out all the pieces to her train while dad kneaded the frosting to get it ready to go.

Steve had fun covering his house with "snow".

Joe and Joy put the finishing touches on the front yard of their house.

Quent and Cindy's final design!

Time for Christmas

Quent and I made it to Salt Lake on Thursday with plenty of time to watch the University of Utah win their bowl game and see snow for the first time this season. The roads were dry driving to Salt Lake and we didn't get any precipitation until we pulled into Quent's parents driveway about 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.

We are staying at Quent's parents house until Sunday and we will spend the last three days of our
"Christmas Vacation" at my sister's house in North Salt Lake.

Stay tuned for pictures and a recap of the "First Annual" Gingerbread Challenge which will take place tomorrow night at Joe's house.

Blog Neglect!

Sorry for the delay in updating the blog. We have been busy traveling around the state of Utah and Nevada. Quent had a meeting in St. George the second weekend in December and the third week of December we spent in Las Vegas at a water users meeting.

We have kept ourselves busy with the holidays by hosting the first annual Wahweap Hatchery Christmas party at our house and preparing for the trip to Salt Lake. I made a centerpiece out of some fresh pine branches that Quent and I got after we went looking for deer one afternoon. Martha Stewart would be proud. (I'll post pictures of all our travels as well as the Christmas party soon.)

Fun with Frosting...

Quent and I decided we wanted to make a gingerbread house so while we were in St. George on Friday we picked up not one but two gingerbread kits. (the Tom method). We created a Christmas Tree and a Gingerbread house, both turned out really cute although the tree was not only easier it looks better too.

Happy Birthday Quent!!!

Saturday was Quent's birthday and we had a pretty quiet day. We ran into town in the morning and were home the rest of the day. Just before dinner Quent decided to open his birthday presents and cards from everyone. A big thanks to everyone who remembered his birthday. Below are a few of the pictures we took of his birthday celebration. (Note the picture of his birthday dinner has a better picture of the holiday decorations.)

Christmas Decorations ...

As promised...here are a few pictures of the house and the Christmas decorations.
