Gingerbread Challenge!

Tonight was the Edman family Christmas party held at Joe & Joy's house. It was also the first annual Gingerbread Challenge. After eating creamy chicken noodle soup and taco soup it was time for the contest to start. Each of us created a gingerbread house, gingerbread tree or a gingerbread train *we decided to go with the prepackaged kits rather than baking our own gingerbread houses...a grand idea!* After all the decorating was done we had a "non-family" member judge the decorations and Ashley won best overall for her train design. Slim won for best tree, Joy won for best house and Nicole won for best train. Below are the pictures of the party.

Slim decided to read the instructions from start to finish before creating his masterpiece.

Morgan had a great time helping her mom and dad decorate the gingerbread house. She even helped with the snow to complete the project.

Rick followed the instructions at the start until he realized there were more pieces than would fit in the track for his train.

Mom and Dad got into the action here. Mom was laying out all the pieces to her train while dad kneaded the frosting to get it ready to go.

Steve had fun covering his house with "snow".
